Ex girlfriend contact after 3 months?

We had a 8 year relationship. Ex girlfriend was out of control with drinkin and i caught her lieing alot. we broke up 6 months ago. I stopped all contact three months ago. she would call me everyweek and i would never answer. she called me last week said there was something important she wanted to talk to me about. I called her and it was just an excuse to get me on the phone. We talked for about 15 minutes went ok. Then about a week went bye and she text me. i responded we went back and forth and i told her maybe we could meet up to talk sometime because it was awkard on the phone, she said yeah that would be good. Then we text a couple more days then i havent heard anything from her in a week. I dont know if i might of made a mistake talking to her at all. . It is still hard for me to trust her, but i shared a big part of my life with her. What is her angle? Is it better for me to just not talk to her at all?
